Peanut

Sponsored by: Wendy Albright - The Parrot Lady 🙂

Peanut, a male Indian Ring Neck, found a safe place to land at EAST in March of 2023 when we were contacted by Metro Animal Control due to the death of Peanut’s owner.

Because Peanut lacked facial and collar bands, we originally thought he was a female. After about a year the black ring began developing which meant that he was around 18 months old. He is now around 2 1/2 years old (2025). Indian Ring Necks have a relatively long lifespan, often living 25-30 years with proper care.

Peanut has fit right in with the flock of IRNs and is especially fond of Sunny, a female IRN that came to the sanctuary in 2024.
